William N. Copley - a retrospektive

The retrospektive William N. Copleys (1919 – 1996) in the Max Ernst Museum Brühl of the LVR shows Works of the American, who worked as a gallery owner, artist, writer and publisher in the middle of the 1940s. In the Tradition of Dada, Surrealism and the American Pop Art, he deals in an ironic way with the erotic play between men and women in all it’s facets. Most of the exhibited objects are inherited by the artist, many of them being shown publically for the first time. Also the extensive amout of works, which belong to the collection of the cooperational parner Museum Frieder Burda, are being displayed in this exhibition. In the LVR Max-Ernst Museum Brühl, Comesstraße 42 / Max-Ernst-Alle 1, 50321 Brühl.
